This is a repair project to restore the AVR-3 threading rotary mechanism to smooth operation. Over the decades, the original grease on the center shaft had dried out and become a sticky glue-like substance requiring a complete disassembly, cleaning, and relube with new grease.
  As can be seen in the photos, getting things apart can be somewhat difficult without bending or damaging the stamped parts.
